@frost Yeah. One day memberships are kind of a godsend as far as seeing cons you ordinarily couldn't - typically Saturdays (since conventions started out as weekend deals and Saturdays tend to be the blowout days)

People are people, which means any group gets some unintentionally really hurtful behavior and a few really awful assholes, especially if there's a power structure of any kind, since that's a vested interest in being a really awful asshole. This is on a collision course with wanting Your Group to be The Good Guys, at some point you're stuck with either making things worse or trying to accept that you can still be basically an okay group inclusive of truly egregious bullshit.

My schools tried to instill an utter horror of addiction - you're gonna try a drug and you won't be able to live without it - but honestly I don't really want to trip balls as much as I miss roadtrips, fencing, cuddling, conventions. All sorts of sober stuff, maybe with coffee. MAYBE. I don't even miss cigs as much.
