The world has changed. Much that once was, isn’t. It began in the faraway kingdom of Salamasond. But then King Yertle, the King of them all, decided the kingdom he ruled was too small. He ordered all the turtles onto one another’s back. And into this stack he poured his cruelty, his malice, and his will to dominate all life.

Anyway. This weekend was the Antiquarian Book Show, so I went early with my Dad. Not entirely selfless since I haven’t been since 2019 and I thought I’d find something fairly recent but affordable. A lot of valuable stuff was in cases; here’s some of what interested me.

@ThatGenieProblem @Chip_Unicorn PR gets SLAMMED by storms, and without statehood to give them official representation, aiding them winds up being a niceity rather than a necessity. It really bugs me.

@Chip_Unicorn I think it's opportunism. PR's still a territory, so they can't vote right? And by definition there won't be a big number of Riquenos registered in the states. So right wing whites will understand hating on them as code for hating Mexicans, and right wing Cuban- and Mexican-Americans can feel okay that they're not supporting someone openly dissing them.
