@anthracite hey, just credit me for the sketch when you're done?
@ziphi because as soon as the assumption goes away that you can really enjoy your day more after a good night's sleep, rather than see another day slip into job and chores, then there's a lot less motivation to end the current day.
I really hate it when people prove my worst assumptions. Right now I'm feeling like I should delete my Bluesky but eh, where else is there? Here is equally hostile, no way am I going back to X, and there's a good chance the reply I got (and the account it's from) is a bot or someone so innately sanctimonious and bigoted their opinion isn't worth consideration. So I'll probably keep it around.
Part of what interests me about zoology, archaeology, and old industrial stuff is; these animals, societies, and bits of tech are designed to do many of the same things we have, and maybe it's not as fast or efficient, but they do it pretty well. That's interesting of itself and a nice counter to this idea that what's being pushed now is better than anything before and you must run out and buy it if you've not got one already, sort of a capitalist rephrase of Victorian elitism.
friend asked if I had any tips for drawing expressions and I suggested loosely caricaturing eye and mouth shapes from pausing videos
which led to rewatching "Low Self Opinion," I once drew off it for the angry facial expressions on a pair of Buddhist door guardians
and immediately the urge to respond "look, it's the liar! Liar, liar!" People who survived the 90s will get it.
re: food!! that we cooked!
@frost Congrats! I've never tried making tuna noodle casserole. How'd it taste?
@joabaldwin oh hell yeah. I was thinking you were gonna post javelina photos or something.
Lots of random gunk, but some drawings and cooking talk too. Obsesses about DnD and related topics. Left-leaning/profoundly frustrated politics. Black lives matter; trans rights are human rights.
