abuse history, ADHD, uspol
lately I've been spotting the connections between my ADHD as a chemical physiological thing and my conscious emotional take on the world.
part of this is my resentment for people officially better than me - I grew up around a lot of double standards, elitism, prejudice, and favoritism. I notice that not only are "good people" a potential threat but the way they're able to get away with things where I can't breaks my reality (you said there were rules that applied, so I was trying to live with those rules as a way of keeping my emotions in line, but clearly the rules DON'T apply if it's someone you like) and sets off wider despair (since rules are completely arbitrary, there's no reason things will ever be fair, and I can continue being hurt forever).
and of course everything about this Administration and its apologists is very much "well if the people WE LIKE do it, it's okay." Constantly triggery.
Making a new Bluesky account leads me right into how living in 2025 means we're all pretty pissed off about politics, and trying to mute or block my way to greater comfort (hearing the equivalent of "it's metastasized! It's metastasized to your bones!" fails to really do much for me, ya know?), it's just not going to work (among other reasons I think Bluesky's muting words doesn't work). I am stuck somehow relying on my ability to step past negative feelings and I'm not good at that.
@LexYeen Thor as in "flying Aesir, the good protector of man, who shall one day slay Jormungandr then take nine paces before falling dead from its venom" or Thor as in "flung perhaps uncomfortably realistic horse dildo"?
@LexYeen You're just trying to get your ctenophorsona into a pool toy picture, aren't you?
WWII reference; related to how for the longest time I thought "Peter Dinklage" was something nautical like "Mark Twain"
I got a translation of "Das Boot" at a library book sale. I largely missed the anti-war part (and the part where they were in a war) in reading it as this HEROIC MEN AGAINST THE SEA epic. Arr.
Anyway, 'cause you can't print some things in Germany, parts were edited to read them yelling Heil UF (pretty much when leaving harbor), and naturally I assumed whatever UF was, heiling it was some sort of German way of letting people know that you'd cleared moorings.
D&D character idea; now that they’ve gotten rid of half elves/half orcs. Character has orc blood, but simply genetic luck means she’s not just human-passing; she’s actively slender with delicately pointed ears. She obstinately refuses to claim she is anything BUT an orc, there’s no reason why her familial pride has to come second to anyone’s bigotry.
@ziphi “it’s an anime” doesn’t by itself preclude being about gender
And looking at the preview for what I’m pretty sure was an AI generated animal video on Instagram, I’m struck by how ecologically unsound it is not just to use up a crap ton of water on this shit, but also to have a public no longer sure animals and landscapes are irreplaceable with convenient glurge.
@Tuftears you’re not going to believe this, but one of the things Mt. Hiei monks were notorious for were marching into Kyoto with portable shrines (and weapons) to demand concessions from local authorities- including tax breaks for breweries they owned. The idea being, you can’t get them to leave without caving or violence and what sort of nimrod attacks monks?
@chimerror This is the most reasonable conjecture I have - but I figure maybe since it's DRAWN violence, it's not like the possibly-altered war zone photos the rule's supposed to prohibit.
@chimerror AHA! I think I know what I got wrong.
I posted a drawing with a ghast trying to choke an adventurer after he'd obviously sliced into her arm with a sword, so I labeled it for graphic violence, AND apparently I shouldn't have done so.
@chimerror well on the one hand; if I had an IDEA of why they suspended me, it would help.
On the other hand I'm pretty sure they're fucking power-swinging Republican wannabees hopped up on their own self-assigned authority.
well I got suspended from Bluesky for three days, and appealed it as per below;
My email states that I "posted content that violates our Community Guidelines related to Respectful Discourse," but I have no idea what that could be. I haven't THREATENED anyone, and the closest thing I can think of is mentioning having suicidal thoughts then bypassing them, so I ask that you please either re-enstate my account or tell me what I supposedly did wrong.
Lots of random gunk, but some drawings and cooking talk too. Obsesses about DnD and related topics. Left-leaning/profoundly frustrated politics. Black lives matter; trans rights are human rights.
