every time Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash and Dolly Parton make me think yeah actually I like country, invariably I wind up somewhere having to listen to the stuff and man, it makes me want to break F150 windows, torch flags, and move to Nairobi or some other place where I'd never need to hear it again.

@LexYeen I HAD thought about Hellboy punching a strangely familiar bloated zombie with a huge blond foof of hair and an obvious swastika armband but such a presentation seems a little too dignified.

@LexYeen I'm torn between using this as an excuse to draw a Kriegsaffe and saying "Nazis are too much the arch-villain for Hellboy and Indiana Jones, I want to go a different direction."

okay, drawing advice, supposing you were Hellboy and therefore you needed to punch something, what would get the right hand of doom, WHAM! right in the ugly mug?

@FamiliarAlien yeah, well I sure ain't claimin' the bigoted motherf*cker as one of ours

my ex used to HATE me playing the same videos as a sequence and in some cases forbade me to do so

I mention this because the logical follow up to Tom Waits' "What's He Building" is always the opening sequence to Hellboy (2004). Ahnung un Rama! AHNUNG UN RAMA!

No, I'm not a non-resident alien, I'm a fucking dual citizen. I really wish they paid me for shoveling through this bullshit, I'd buy myself a pie AND coconut whipped cream.

Okay, done with background check stuff, and that Theodore Bikel album was TOO schmaltzy. So I'm back to Tom Waits and working on the registration/background paperwork I was originally PLANNING to crank on before surprise background check needed.

I really resent gender things where I can't opt out. But hey, I'm big in Japan. I'm big in Japan.

re: clothes! ... and cops

@topaz I'd say try it but pack backup pants if you're really worried - if it works, you'll know you can get away with it some of the time.

re: I really hope it's not this

@topaz Fortunately I have coffee, I have an entire album of VERY schmaltzy Yiddish songs, and I did this recently enough that I don't need to look up new information so much as I need to bust ass to insert it in the right places.

re: I really hope it's not this

@topaz whether it is or isn't - and it's probably not, in this shitty society it's probably something to make the background check people money - it FEELS like that, or possibly someone making me jump through hoops so that I give up.

oh for fuck's sake y'all need another background check? Y'all just DID one of them, I'm not gonna be guilty of any more profound crimes against humanity now than I was two weeks ago

playlist;

"Nothing Compares 2 U" is nostalgic & sad =>

"Won't You Be My Neighbor" is nostalgic =>

Muppet version of "Kodachrome" is a recommendation from "Neighbor" =>

a really crass filk of "Kodachrome" is like "Why Does It Hurt When I Pee" =>

"Stick It Out" on the same album also contains the lyric AY YI YI

@topaz Yeah. Was a total cold shower with extra bleach.

@robinhood For the longest time a childhood memory I'd recount of actually having my first African American friend, was that Mal could make part of his cheeks look legitimately *black* if he held his breath long enough and that was the coolest thing in the world.

THEN, about a decade or so back, I realized; what kinda kids have so little to do that "Mal can make part of his cheeks turn legitimately black" is the coolest thing in the world? (Answer; kids in pre-internet, pre-VHS rural Georgia.)

1) "remember the present," "thinking about anxieties can worsen them" and so on are great pieces of advice but phrased as "YOU are WHAT CREATES STRESS FOR YOURSELF" I'm just going to tune it out

2) similarly "I am self taught and want to pass on tips" is useful, but "I became a professional comic artist at 16" comes across as having unrealistic expectations and ego, and this could be the most useful video since learning how to create layer masks in Photoshop, I'd still tune it out.

okay, done with job hunt for right now - there's agency paperwork I need to crank through, but it can happen *later*. I can feel a little of the despair, not the punch in the face version the last few job hunt things, and am going to cook and eat something before anything else happens.

@Kyresti Thanks. I keep running into how much I don't *like* being angry, I don't really get anything out of it. I can't even channel my anger into drawing, at least not consciously, because when I draw, I'm happy.

@Kyresti eh, paranoia that one adult authority or bully is in contact with all the others and any attempt to push back will be punished

coyote sing along hour, swapped to Ozomatli

it's YOU they card
it's YOU they charge
it's YOU they complain about strollin' the boulevard
you the one screamin' and claimin' you all hard
are you in charge or is it just a facade?
if Uncle Sam wants you, it's YOU that he'll need
it's YOU that he'll sacrifice and it's YOU that'll bleed
