time to listen to my second favorite Cure song!
#drawing last night, trying to figure out more about the balance of roughing out figures, and listening to The Great Escape soundtrack.
re: art thoughts, a bit on ai and a bit on fascism
@ziphi I agree, and supplement with;
Every conservative is, regardless of any other description, conservative. They don't like high falutin' weird shit like not strictly binary gender, wars being at best ethically complex and at worst hopelessly mired, jazz, Gay furry porn. They DO like what's wholesome, safe, KNOWN. Socialist realist art. Country music about how great it is to be a redneck. Cracker Barrel. Plantation weddings.
GenAI is a perfect fit, because you're mythologizing the past and present, while not truly acknowledging the future (for instance, that maybe blowing through that much water is a terrible idea). GenAI is meant to knock out stuff fast based on what you already want, it's essentially a medium made for advertising. And advertising is its political use here; you can make all the idealized images of the past you want, without really touching the actual messy time period.
@noelle Happy birthday!
definitely having the form of hypervigilence where enough has gone wrong I keep expecting more to go wrong. I can now see sort of the thought processes that earlier, would result in going right over into terrible self worth, simply because in childhood one of the next things to go wrong was usually a huge harangue about how bad I am (it doesn't hurt that being scolded is something I fear happening at my day job).
Lots of random gunk, but some drawings and cooking talk too. Obsesses about DnD and related topics. Left-leaning/profoundly frustrated politics. Black lives matter; trans rights are human rights.
