D&D character idea; now that they’ve gotten rid of half elves/half orcs. Character has orc blood, but simply genetic luck means she’s not just human-passing; she’s actively slender with delicately pointed ears. She obstinately refuses to claim she is anything BUT an orc, there’s no reason why her familial pride has to come second to anyone’s bigotry.

Ever wonder whether northwest coast art, with its broad dramatic colored shapes, is partly intended to read clearly in the mist and rain of PNW winters? (Okay probably more important that it’s an easy style to crave with the wood grains and tools available before European or Chinese contact.)

Hiei monks were notorious for were marching into Kyoto with portable shrines (and weapons) to demand concessions from local authorities- including tax breaks for breweries they owned. okay, so my fighter/barbarian tripped balls on whatever this magical fog is. The DM described seeing the forms of orcs hunting in the fire. I made a joke about seeing the ancestors and taking a level in Cleric.

FIVE MINUTES LATER I realized that she'd just had the setup to becoming a totem warrior as her barbarian path. She is now sure she saw, and spoke with, the spirit of the great Shivan Wurm.

ME: if my D&D character dies, I can play a minotaur monk whose fangs and horns are filed blunt to show his embrace of non-violence

ALSO ME: he was a wandering monster until the day he ambushed a group of monks meditating on the sound of one hand clapping and his bellowed “MU” impressed the master.

Do NOT promise me SCARY BETTY BOOP unless you're gonna have a Danny Elfman soundtrack. He's like the only dude who could successfully write a Cab Calloway musical number in 2025.
