whoa WHOA this arrangement of Toto's soundtrack is out of order because they were just at the fall of House Atreides and now they've got the part where the Baron's at the dermatologist.
THE plan. Feyd. Rabban. Go quickly. No-one must ever know of the Baron's involvement. If they found out, the Lansraad would turn against the Baron. *elaborate hand gestures*

two thumpers are planted. the worm may not rise for the first he will rise for the second. but remember when the worm approaches you must be utterly still, and close enough to plant the hook firmly under a ring segment. the worm will turn to move this exposed area as far from the abrasive sand as possible and will take you with it to the top. do not get too close, as he passes the sand will engulf you. wait till the head of the worm passes then go, quickly. #mmmmm #ShaiHulud

#drawing today, halfling necromancer orders his zombies into battle against a barbed devil (evil vs evil equals drawing more monsters and I like the idea the necromancer might be a PC).
#drawing off road rally car, vaguely 70s-80s sedan, some sort of 4x4 military vehicle. I keep forgetting how long it takes to draw vehicles and that I’m not great at it, and about an hour plus drawing vehicles shows me otherwise.

I know that you're afraid. You're afraid of US. You're afraid of CHANGE. I don't know the future. I didn't come here to tell you how this is gonna end. I came here to tell you how it's gonna begin. I'm gonna hang up this phone, and then I'm going to show these people what you don't want them to see. I'm going to show them a world without YOU. A world without rules and controls, without borders or boundaries.

Bleah. Sometimes tenants show up here, this time they wanted their last month’s rent back, but I couldn’t find their file (placed separate from where I knew to look, but once found it cleared up how much they actually owed). The accountant is on vacation, I had no context and can’t speak Spanish to help out, and my boss didn’t know they’d been paying a discounted rate monthly since last June, so all *she* knew was they were asking money for a place they’d already left, and she lost it at them.
UK bigotry, historical antisemitism
Mostly “Sir Winston loved Jews and Zionism” with the exception of a Haaretz article about how he knew about Auschwitz before official history claims and refused to bomb camp stuff despite it being feasible and repeated requests. This I don’t think proves antisemitism per se; this reads as one of Sir Winston’s decisions like Gallipoli or the Pelopponesian campaign where other people died for what he was certain for whatever anglocentric reason was a great idea.
UK bigotry, historical antisemitism
The rhetoric in the UK about “well they should just fit in” reminded me of stuff I could swear Sir Winston Churchill said about Jewish immigrants, so I tried to find a quote, found a kinda ehh one about “well as long as they do business with non Jews and DON’T BECOME COMMUNISTS! they’re okay.” Plus a 1936 article ghost written by one of Moseley’s people, which Sir Winston backed off on ASAP.

subtoot, personal observations about anger in discussions and tone policing
in *any* discussion about minority rights, whoever's from the group we're currently talking about will probably come across as incredibly angry because;
* that point they'll be talking about very real threats to their survival and comfort
* they are probably not someone used to airing their complaints, let alone carefully; this stuff doesn't affect just eloquent, nuanced speakers, but *normal people*
* on the flip side, if you're not used to hearing it, by definition it's going to sound way angrier than what you're used to
Understandable but probably not helpful reactions include;
* asking them to tone it down (no matter what context, this is unlikely to convince anyone to be less angry)
* getting the hell away from the angry person since your subconscious is telling you that you might make a great target (the worst case scenario is actually they're a police plant trying to get you to break something)
* trying to troubleshoot, and interjecting with your personal experience
* related, if you are *any other marginalized group*, you will likely be pissed off that your compatriot is seriously aggrieved about what's being done to their group and does not acknowledge yours might have had some stuff. Leave it. There'll be another better time to address that one.
Lots of random gunk, but some drawings and cooking talk too. Obsesses about DnD and related topics. Left-leaning/profoundly frustrated politics. Black lives matter; trans rights are human rights.
