okay, pushing to knock out UI application for last week turned out to be a great idea because somehow I managed to miss reporting pay - so I suggested I might have underreported unintentionally and sent them a screenshot of all hours from the agency website for the assignment. Hopefully this will all turn out okay - being authorities the alert was full of dire threats. Anyway that and last week's job search stuff are in.
stoned thought to read back to myself later 'cause it's all nice
the world doesn't need to revolve around me as long as I'm safe. There's a lot of safe and comfortable to be had while not being the best of the best of the best Sir!, the cream that rises to the top especially in schools where dairy product metaphors aren't accurate to lived experience.
the real trick here is actually being able to tell when you're getting enough safe and comfortable, because what you really need is somewhere BETWEEN being safe and comfortable all the time, and whatever horrible mixture of reality and your worst fears is the opposite extreme.
Wooooo okay, this would be a real good time to lie down.
one of the nicer things about being an artist is that whoever you might be jealous of for their success, they're probably *really* good.
And, I mean, the main place where I differ from what I was taught is imho everyone actually deserves success. Or maybe nearly everyone, or something like that.
the other thing is that *usually* other artists are pretty awesome. Usually. I know there are some stinkers and just the usual run of *unintentionally* jerky.
one of the things I legit wish were different about myself is that I tend to clench my jaw really tightly while stressed, enough to give myself a tension headache from it. Unfortunately 1) I can stress out at an unconscious level enough to do this and 2) getting a tension headache from clenching my jaw counts as stress.
correction, the Gender Low Menacing Hum flag is;
light gray, white, dark gray, intermediate gray for non-metallic metals, black for oil, and vibrant blue for electricity
I fess up that 40K factions painted in trans colors surprises me because I'm too attached to canon.
You know; tyrannids are pansexual, aeldari are nonbinary, space marines are profoundly Gay. Presumably necrons and skitarii are something like "genderlowmenacinghum" where the pride flag is gray for mechanical bits, black for oil and vibrant blue for electricity.
Just one #drawing today, more improbable plate armor. I hadn’t intended these two adventurers taking on a dragon as a take on that “guys pointing” meme but it wound up that way!

Personal is political
Honestly, a lot of what’s up with ay yi, is it really SLAMS home 1) everything is owned by rich people 2) is about to be owned MORE, and 3) is about to become more expensive to make these rich people richer, and you are told that 1) this is for your benefit and 2) there’s nothing you can do, adapt or die little Untermenschen.
Short pol adjacent pride rant about exceptionalism, has a slur
Seriously, folks? We AREN’T the only minority group on the planet. The same rightwingers who are lashing out at Queers are the same folks justifying their power grabs with elaborate fictions about how us rich kikes control everything, and their entire identity is and has always been and will always be fundamentally rooted in crapping on Black people. WE ARE ALL IN THIS TOGETHER.
#drawings today;skullduggery in the Underdark as an enigmatic technological master presents an aged wizard with his clone; a brave orc faces a dual spear wielding ettin; and some random bunnies sitting, exercising and dancing!

copy pasting from a discussion on Hellbird;
I feel Fiddler on the Roof is the worst musical out there; not only does Fiddler rewrite a lot of pain and horror as a super-sanitized version of the good ol' days, but the music doesn't really reflect the strong musical traditions in the Pale of Settlement at the time.
Lots of random gunk, but some drawings and cooking talk too. Obsesses about DnD and related topics. Left-leaning/profoundly frustrated politics. Black lives matter; trans rights are human rights.
