New from Aurora! It’s Captain Marko Ramius’ Caterpillar Drivester™️!

… definitely a joke which will be funny to at least 3 people who remember both Aurora kits and The Hunt for Red October.

oh yeah this packaged udon augmented with leftover fried tofu, green onion, frozen spinach, sesame oil and some shoyu is pretty awesome but you know what it needs?

* grabs nanami togarashi and shakes vigorously, Mountain View style *

It’s a little like; would you trust a reference on WWII if those praising it were white dudes with Totenkopf tattoos screaming about not being replaced, only in this case the reference also tells you about Bismarck’s role in the Battle of the Coral Sea?

o yeah I could go down by the lake where all the rich people live and I could EAT all their PEAS

today, trying to get more size contrast between figures, low angle stuff, trying for dramatic dark areas. Wasp demon of some sort about to eat a hapless wizard if rescue doesn’t arrive; a trio of adventurers prepare to loot an evil (maybe) temple; pirate versus brass construct.

aww they turned off comments on my favorite sea shanty, I was gonna leave ARRRRRR

*video of a profoundly angry cat being coaxed out of a carrier by vets wearing heavily armored gloves, which has got to happen moderately often *

Me: oh noooes teh gauntlets noooes. Hate it. Haaaaaaate.

… this is why I wouldn’t physically survive as a vet tech

and the dueling leaf blowers outside have STOPPED so now I should grab a nap quickly before they come back

TMBG: She's not your satellite, she doesn't miss you, so turn off your smoke machine and watch your step.

Guster: You're my satellite, you're riding with me tonight, passenger side, lighting the sky, always the first star that I find.

tfw your interviewer says "I'm the supervisor" and you're desperately trying NOT to follow this up with "Can I get a taxi number?"

re: last boost REALLY wanted to show @XyzzySqrl another cute why-does-nobody-have-this-as-a-sona

Animal of the day (013)

Plushie stuck in a tree? Almost, but nope; the Southern Greater Glider is very real, and one of the largest gliding mammals. Native to the forests of southeastern Australia, this nocturnal marsupial gets about the size of a housecat, with a tail that reaches 2 feet in length. Although its gliding membrane only stretches from the forearm to the tibia, it can glide for an impressive 100 meters, tucking its forepaws under its chin in the process. It is the quiet type, with no vocalization that we know of. Babies stay in their mother's pouch for the first few months, after which they'll ride their mum's back for another three months.

okay that was a 55 minute long Teams interview

“Can I retire at 65 with 2.5 million?”

That headline is a little like “can I become part of an elite interplanetary peacekeeping force if I can just manage to get a gem implanted in my hand by a dying alien?”

Drawing adventurers in an evil(?) temple, and my visual language is Buddhist sculpture plus Catholic altars… and of course there’s a ner tamid, don’t all temples have one? I did get my first D&D stuff with money from my Bar Mitzvah after all.

Well… nothing on SAP but B&N do have books on QuickBooks and one general book on accounting. Right now though I need coffee.

Anyway here are from earlier today with a little touch up right now. Duergar or chaos dwarves or something (excuse for weird armor), and more fantasy architecture, ogre or hill giant hall and an infernal fortress.

apparently the offshoot of earlier crankiness about country is exploring more songs by Goodnight Texas than just the Metallica cover, and it turns out that yeah, holy crap they're good. They're listed as "folk rock" rather than country, which would actually put 'em in the same category as All Them Witches, one of my favorite groups ever.

every time Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash and Dolly Parton make me think yeah actually I like country, invariably I wind up somewhere having to listen to the stuff and man, it makes me want to break F150 windows, torch flags, and move to Nairobi or some other place where I'd never need to hear it again.
