inspired by the unexpected commercial success of 1972's Zatoichi tai Gyoza, Toho planned a sequel, Zatoichi tai Yakimeshi, but this never materialized

tangential thought off "the Bakshi LotR comes this close to being great especially because it cannot do what usually pisses me off about Bakshi films."

A few years ago I'm watching Wizards with @obscurestar and it includes an exclusive interview with Ralph which is more entertaining than the movie. He's got this shirt open with this generous tuft of chest hair poking out, and the interview's classic Ralph. I forget most of it now but the parts I remember are him being unusually self-congradulatory about how wonderful he was to hire a Black animator at that point in time, and how he wanted Wizards to be a more urban fantasy that kids could relate to, not like Disney films which had, and I quote "horses eatin' apples in a field or some shit."

shoutout to the 8-10something kid in line ahead of me at the register, and the cashier. Y'all reminded me that I basically LIKE people, right in the middle of feeling really misanthropic, and also, I really hope the birthday party is a great one.

Comment: this RHCP album reminds me of the 90s when life was simpler and things were better.

The RHCP album: a song about institutional racism, a song with a video about American militarism, a song that mentions environmental destruction, etc

What D&D player character species/ancestry should I draw? And I guess the follow up is if I went for Pathfinder instead what type of PCs would those be?

Mastodon users diss Bluesky users more than Bluesky users diss Mastodon, and I can’t speak for Threads, but Mastodon, Bluesky, and Twitter users all have a low opinion of Twitter. Which I mean makes sense; neither Masto nor Bluesky has one of the most loathsome dudes on earth presiding over making it something you actively hate.

I see it’s Cold Call o’clock in Offshore Recruiter Land.

In case you were wondering no, I can’t afford to work for under $20, no I can’t commute to Tacoma on a daily basis, no I am not available at 0600 to field calls and no, I’m not a network administrator, or whatever completely extraneous thing you’ve got going. Call me when you REALLY have jobs.

today, trying to get a nicer balance of cartoony stuff, idk.

oh shit guys I'm crying about cats again

I think almost the most hilarious thing about Lovecraft is how he became famous by NOT becoming famous. He was only kinda sorta a name as a pulp author, so when people were casting around for stuff to reprint for GIs a few years after his death, HPL's stuff was cheap, and after the war there was lots of it around. Suddenly a much broader audience was reading Lovecraft's work and going "hey actually this is pretty good."
