yesterday I watched a YouTube thing about D&D art by edition. The OSR dude (with obvious bias) talked about grimy, gritty 1e-2e art versus the young adult fiction/superheroic look of 5e art.

This gets me realizing part of why I like 4e's art most; 4e art's got some of the technical polish I really like in 5e, but it's still obviously different styles, different artists. In a subtle and probably unintended way it says "there's no one way to run or play D&D."

grateful for the amazing legacy of music but I feel like we missed a great opportunity to have a John Williams Jazz Trio including both the guitarist and the composer/pianist (there’s gotta be a drummer named John Williams out there)

Something great about Seattle not obvious from the outside is we have a jazz and blues station. Unfortunately for me, they double as the NPR news station, so I can’t listen during peak commute hours without being hit by, you know, THIS.

It’s not currently peak commute hours.

lately my emotions have vacillated between denial and negotiation - you know, maybe it's not so bad, maybe there's something I can do about all this - and feeling completely drained of energy and emotionally low, versus being enraged. I'm sure there's a word for this.
