Once again it is naptime, yet with no easy way to curl up somewhere and pass out for 15-30. The *real* reason I mostly was a hyena in furry fandom, the whole pass out anywhere thing.

Despite how much I adored this thing for being a really doofy cheese fest,

1) it bothers me that Shan Liwen, initially established as Newt’s vaguely racist asshole boss, and who sets the story going because she’s basically a greedy cheap CEO, suddenly becomes this unquestioned heroine as soon as she hops in a Jager and starts welding rockets to crap.

2) there’s a statement in the movie about “Don’t let others define you, you may not like where that takes you.”

It’s surprising that there are Israeli, Iraqi and Lebanese black metal groups all apparently skeeved off at Judaism and Islam as their familial religions.

It’s kinda inspiring that the black metal community largely responded to neo-Nazi members with “what part of we’re individuals and hate societal marching in lock step did you not get?”

And I am *still* lacking a good definition for “atmospheric black metal.”

About 0630 or so I used the bathroom, and tried to sleep more before work. The rain surged in intensity but all there was to do is stay put and stay warm so I got back to sleep. Then it turns out that surge in intensity was 3-8 mm dia hailstones.

I really want to reconsider/rethink a lot of stuff - painting, kinks, moving, career vs hobby - but it just feels like there's no spoons to do more than day job, house chores, some art stuff.

Okay in Mystery Men why DON’T they hire Ballerina-man? He’s obviously ripped, he’s obviously agile, he’s a perfect fit.

There was a specific part of the movie that had me reciting “I’m bad, and that’s good” to my friend.

Omg Pacific Rim Uprising was the most enjoyable movie I’ve seen this entire year. It wasn’t good mind, but it was definitely the most enjoyable.

The first movie was nowhere near as much fun nor as stooooooopid

Seriously if I could teleport, maybe I'd visit parts of the world that would be nearly inaccessible otherwise, maybe I'd become a superhero, maybe I'd become a courier who could live anywhere in the world

but I definitely would use it to avoid traffic on 880 a lot. That's how much resenting the drive looms in my consciousness.

And I just couldn't sleep. So I drove all the way back north, figuring that'd tire me out. I'm still winding down tho.

Tried out Vanishing Realms with my friend’s VR set. And apparently faced with skeleton warriors I wind up raining blows on them to try beating their defenses down, thrusting in ways which leave the bounding box, and snarling things like “who’s next, Arschloch?”

Tonight’s being useful art wise. How’re *y’all* doing?

Aaand @green @kara@occult.camp you’ll appreciate this, I’m trying out music and drawing while baked and decide to try Wagner’s “Entrance of the Gods into Valhalla”... while drawing powerfully built horses.

We have just folded space from Ix. Many machines on Ix. New machines.

... in other news I’m listening to Tinariwen, Kyuss and Danheim and JS Bach and stuff and this sound system is so good!

My friend’s house is basically a huge wooden box so I’m listening to the bass line in “The Chain” and holy shit it’s better than that sushi even.
