More Stuff I Talk About; my relationship with my parents is uh, nuanced, but I visit them regularly and tend to complain about that. I’m *still* trying to find healthier alternatives to my childhood experiences and indoctrination. I drink and have marijuana edibles occasionally, but quit smoking in 2018. I love TTRPGS and dinosaurs. My idea of fun movies is entertaining, so not necessarily good.

I’m Jon, Leucrotta, Brushwolf, Paka or coyote. I’m Queer, AMAB, and mixed Ukranian/Jewish/Byelorussian/etc ancestry. I grew up in Georgia but currently live in Seattle where I work for a ship supply company. Drawing is a very committed hobby though not my job quite yet, but I’ve been cooking a lot more and hike regularly. I don’t currently fence, do wing tsun or capoeira but I used to, and talk about that occasionally. My politics are somewhere left of center.

How many times can you listen to “New Slang,” First Aid Kit’s “Wolf,” and The Pixies’ “Caribou” in a week? Hmmm. Maybe it’s time for “White Cedar” again, too.

#drawings today, two knights on horseback converse and a plate armored cleric or paladin of a death god fights zombies. I was in a lousy mood and needed to draw a *lot*, and you can see where I got slap happy. CW, this is pretty violent for me.

1) hey, what about a cleric or paladin of a death god in plate armor, fighting undead by whirling around with a massive flanged mace, that'd look cool

2) puts on profoundly goofy D&D themed stoner rock

3) THPANGG! in Mainzur Fraktur is a perfectly appropriate sound effect for hitting zombies with a massive flanged mace

... as soon as I put on Dungeon Weed, my D&D themed drawing became a *lot* goofier. This is while completely sober.

I mean how do you get older and not start feeling that every moment of human joy, actually cool creation, attempt to bring back species from the brink, liberation of a marginalized group etc, is anything more persistent than just a temporary blip quickly extinguished by incredibly rich people, bullies who confuse sadism with humor, and religion, usually all three at once? Where do you throw in the towel and go humans are just shit?

Have you ever considered Lord of the Rings as a story about people ignoring Gandalf? Like... he tells Frodo about the danger of the Ring, and eventually Frodo gets moving, during which time he talks to Saruman who completely ignores his advice. Then the party heads for Moria even though he says it's a crummy idea, where he tells the Balrog to go away and it doesn't. Later he confronts the Witch King of the Nazgul and tells *him* to go away, and *he* doesn't.
