there's definitely some serious analysis which can go into how Tim Burton and Danny Elfman "get" Christmas on several levels because they both grew up in SoCal so their understanding is *entirely* about American popular mythology.

I’m thinking about posting drawings on Heilbird again. I want to share it but am reluctant to do more to build interest in the site.

Made the mistake of browsing Wikipedia about something, and… it’s amazing how much people hate us, given how much power a tiny, largely poor or dirt poor minority can wield. I realize we’re not alone in that.

Given Korngold, Maazel, Jack Kirby and others, if there *is* a Jewish conspiracy out there it’s about … uh *checks notes*… spreading awareness of Norse mythology and the works of Richard Wagner.

Oh yeah I forgot. Happy Saint-Nicholas’ Day to anyone celebrating (the only Dutch people I know are pagan I think and I don’t believe anyone I know is Orthodox, but ehhh).

Problem with saying “back in my day,” is assuming right now isn’t (and the past has to be pretty bad to start looking worse than a present where you’re keenly aware of politics, body aches and shitty commutes which wouldn’t have stuck in your memories of the past).
