Feeling burned out about society, dead body mentioned

I used to want my body to go to a med school to be used as a study aid for would be doctors and illustrators, but talking about it today I realized I’ve lost faith that medical illustration will still be around and that doctors will be available for other than the wealthy when I die. That’s assuming my body doesn’t get dumped in a mass grave because there’s been a pandemic, a fascist regime or some result of climate change.

And similarly, after waving a flaming sword at Gandalf he takes off for the other end of the battle, is it possible that he knows he’s facing a Maia (not a Man) and is playing safe?

So wait a minute. No living Man may kill the Witch King but the other wraiths aren’t alive and Sauron was never a Man, so is JRRT also hinting that the Witch King’s loyalty is rooted in constant fear of being axed by his boss or his subordinates?

The human condition is probably being told you need to shut up, sit down, work hard, save money, and trust Jesus, when what you actually want to hear is that you’re loved and safe.

As a kid my favorite parts of LotR were Gandalf’s death, and Eowyn revealing her identity to the Witch-King. Even though my tastes have changed, I still think the latter is just an incredible exchange of really memorable dialogue; equivalent to the rapid fire exchange when Rachel meets Deckard in Bladerunner.

Currently feeling the statement “you are more valuable than how you are treated” is the self-esteem equivalent to Occam’s Razor.

Just wanted to get that off my chest. Addendum *I’m* the extreme left, y’ever thought about that?

Okay so;
1) Biden and Inslee have little to do with the price of fuel and are scarcely liberals unless you mean “left of Ronald Reagan” which isn’t exactly hard
3) how do you know biotech and computers are easy jobs, y’worked them? How do you know young people working them can’t do real work, y’know them?
4) they’re not going to go on welfare and even if they did that’s not a comfortable position to just vibe in
5) maybe your hiring woes are bigger than just people being lazy and innately evil?

It's wild how Przewalsky horses are pretty much *the* first instance of feral horses, no true wild horses exist anymore. Basically horses have been surviving without humans in the wild for pretty much as long as humans have tamed horses, so they've got to be profoundly robust in ways nobody really credits.

"the 1956 movie is true to the book" well except for the parts where Melville veers off into random gunk with nothing really related to the plot which he thinks would be entertaining and *is* actually

Spent entirely too much time looking up Thundarr promotional art to work off and also I have no clue why Toth drew legs like this

Without invoices to run, furnace repair or oil delivery to schedule, the associated phone calls, or the freedom to simply pull out a sketchpad and draw, but with a small dog barking constantly and likelihood of getting canned, my brain wanders to things like “why are you so fucking stupid?” “You’re not a REAL minority/REALLY disabled” or “you’re too ugly to be a girl/you’re too fucking stupid to be trans” and similar thoughts which, now that I’m no longer 1000% bought in, are real uncomfortable.

Sanders to chair healthcare subcommittee, lobbyists alarmed

Senator Bernie Sanders will head the Senate's Health, Education, Labor and Pensions subcommittee, causing considerable concern among health lobbyists whose job is to turn aside criticism of Pharma's extreme pricing and profits politico.com/news/2023/01/03/h

Quick! Snap into a Slim Jim! I mean shift to Manabozho… I mean Crinos! SHIFT TO CRINOS! ?

The small business where I work was recently acquired by a different local business, and while we retain some of our functions the home heating oil/furnace repair stuff I‘d been scheduling and billing has been farmed out to them. This was decided on Sunday, so things are still shaken up, I’m unsure if my job’s going away (which would have some benefits) and obviously it’s a real contrast to the holiday weekend, so… this particular Tuesday is very Monday.
