I should NOT be this far gone off one beer, to be fair the last thing I ate was a chocolate chip cookie hours ago.

One of my best gaming stories is not technically mine, but my gaming group's.

When I went to college I was still as religious as I'd been brought up, and consequently I started school missing games, then as night fell earlier and earlier, I could go to schul AND walk back in time to play D&D.

This meant I'd get into a lot of games late, after my friends already grabbed up solidly armored fighter or nimble thief, and I'd take the unwanted support role. I played a lot of clerics as a result of being religious, and not because I wanted to be religious in game too.

One night that I missed, this ridiculously drunk dude stumbled into the gaming group camped out in a French classroom, and rather than being upset or derisive, he was really into the idea. "I want to play the gorgon!" he announced in a broad ocker accent. REPEATEDLY.

So; my friends explained 2e rules, helped him roll a big human fighter ("The Gorgon") as the easiest character to play, and satisfied, The Gorgon fell into blissful slumber at the game table. My friends played through the rest of the game, and AFAIK didn't even stack dice on him.

The guy never showed up again. I occasionally wonder if a much older version occasionally plays fantasy RPGs, inspired by a drunken experience back in the 'States which he's sure he dreamed up.

okay, I fess up that if I got a catsuit the first thing I would do with it is crawl on the floor, or see if I could dangle over a table or something, pretending to evade laser eye beams.

Topkapi and other heist movies really fucked with my personality at some level

damnit and that in turn reminded me of this guy I managed to alienate a few years back who I *really* liked.

STOP THINKING ABOUT KISSING GUYS DURING THE ART VIDEOS

THEN THE EARL SPOKE TO HIS CHIEF ARCHER FIN (OR WHO WAS A FINN AND AN EXPERT ARCHER) AND SAID "SHOOT THAT TALL MAN BY THE MAST." FIN SHOT, AND BROKE EINAR'S BOW AS HE WAS DRAWING IT. "WHAT WAS THAT, THAT BROKE WITH SUCH A NOISE?" ASKED THE KING. "NORWAY, KING," ANSWERED EINAR, "FROM YOUR GRASP."

clearly what would go great on a quiet introspective morning like this is Amon Amarth's "Twilight of the Thunder God" album. *click*

I'm still thinking about Puss in Boots the Last Wish. I'm really struck by how they effectively tell a story that *could* be a sprawling mess. New characters (there are a lot!) get introduced *through* their actions, so you know who they are without needing explanation. I really think this is a must-see for film reasons, not just because it hits stuff that appeals to me.

Well I've that it's gold
I've heard that it's a finger

Others like 'em silver
But this man loves his gold

I fess up that during the "Mama Luna" part of Puss in Boots the Last Wish, I couldn't *not* think of the line "My name is Ahmed ibn-Fadlan, ibn-Rashid, ibn-Hamid, ibn-Alabas, and things were not always thus."

I love how communist types are eager to point out only the atrocities that support their POV, rather than accept that *no* government is actually good and *any* government needs to be highly transparent and accountable otherwise people *will* suffer.
