"Obi Wan. Obi Wan. Now that's a name I haven't heard since, oh, I chopped yer ol' Dad's legs off and left him to die in a pool of lava. BUT! Sandpeople are easily scared off, but they'll soon be back and more of 'em, so I suggest we scarper." #EpIV #Soundtrack
Images, fantasy humanoids, eye contact
#drawings today, finally a bit looser, fantasy characters; elf swordmage, halfling monk using shakuhachi as weapon, halfling cavalier and portraits; priest of Wee Jas with force scythe, war priest of Hextor, portraits.

oh YEAH it's the scene where he plays baccarat with the shark, right after the scene where he skis through the waterways of Bangkok pursued by guys in hard hats!
OWoD games;
Vampire; there's a world of potentially interesting stuff out there but mostly you'll be interacting with other licks
Werewolf; Garou are fascinating, but mostly you'll be interacting with the rest of the world
Mage; there's a lot of fiddly interesting bits to being a mage, let's actively ignore that and focus on the rest of the world
Changeling; the rest of the world is literally soul-killing, I wanna do fey stuff in fey lands
TTRPG, politics, horrifying murder, analogies
also today, I compared Vampire the Masquerade to roleplaying what the Republican party *used* to be; the Sabbat who revel in being monsters who do terrible things to weaker mortals, and the Camarilla where you can have an entire basement full of corpses hung upside-down to drain blood for you to drink, but for goodness' sake you don't SAY so openly, that's gauche.
You notice I say "used to be."
One of my best gaming stories is not technically mine, but my gaming group's.
When I went to college I was still as religious as I'd been brought up, and consequently I started school missing games, then as night fell earlier and earlier, I could go to schul AND walk back in time to play D&D.
This meant I'd get into a lot of games late, after my friends already grabbed up solidly armored fighter or nimble thief, and I'd take the unwanted support role. I played a lot of clerics as a result of being religious, and not because I wanted to be religious in game too.
One night that I missed, this ridiculously drunk dude stumbled into the gaming group camped out in a French classroom, and rather than being upset or derisive, he was really into the idea. "I want to play the gorgon!" he announced in a broad ocker accent. REPEATEDLY.
So; my friends explained 2e rules, helped him roll a big human fighter ("The Gorgon") as the easiest character to play, and satisfied, The Gorgon fell into blissful slumber at the game table. My friends played through the rest of the game, and AFAIK didn't even stack dice on him.
The guy never showed up again. I occasionally wonder if a much older version occasionally plays fantasy RPGs, inspired by a drunken experience back in the 'States which he's sure he dreamed up.
Lots of random gunk, but some drawings and cooking talk too. Obsesses about DnD and related topics. Left-leaning/profoundly frustrated politics. Black lives matter; trans rights are human rights.
