USUL HAS CALLED A BIG ONE. AGAIN, IT IS THE LEGEND.
*huge bong rip*

USUL, HERE ARE FIFTEEN OF OUR GNARLIEST GROMS. THE FEDAYKIN.

“Barney the purple dinosaur is back and he’s got a new look” wait you mean like Big Bird only they fixed his arms?

Like… Computer anything always has this aspect for me of “this is tremendously useful and innovative AND means someone else are the wanted valued people with all the perks huge incomes provide, like literal safety” (a huge personal button from elitism in childhood schools, which remained difficult during the dot boom etc). With AI art there isn’t the aspect of “tremendously useful” and I’m right back to my angriest, pettiest resentment of the tech sector.

Show thread

As a non techie and former NorCal resident I already associate the tech sector with skyrocketing housing costs, sidewalks blocked by rentable scooters, union busting gigs in place of cabs, the potential danger of self driving vehicles. I was okay curating email datasets for a sales AI intended to aid existing sales people by sorting email. Creating AI “art” intended to not aid but replace, which targets skills I actually wish I could use and veers into art theft, manages to trigger all the rage.

Rant re transphobia

I feel this is because the right needs a distraction and scapegoat they can name openly and while it’s pretty obvious who they’re attacking when they talk about “woke,” “groomer” or “globalists,” trans folks are the last group they can go after without needing a little historical-semantic dance.

Rant re transphobia

Honestly transphobia is a dead end; transness is almost completely inwardly directed. There are no restitutions, no disputed land, nearly no revisions to history textbooks, no dying language, no holiday outside of acknowledgment at Pride, practically no old harmful stereotypes. Literally the biggest thing you need to do to honor trans people is adapt to using unfamiliar pronouns and names. And yet here we are and it’s a huge fuss.

Just one tightened today, wizard takes on a hill giant or ogre cook in her kitchen!

Re last boost for @troodon who’s like the only Kemetic I know these days, how’d that happen?

Okay. Accidentally carefully set my 1030 alarm and woke up at 0736. Scrambled to work despite construction, garbage trucks and buses and just red lights, opened the place, worked on critical issues and checked email. Now I just need to wait for coworkers.

perhaps 11 straight minutes of Henry Rollins singing about how pissed off he is about the childhood abuse will help

I crush my fist. I open my hand.
I got a diamond.
My diamond is rage.
I've got diamonds in my age.

coyote sing along hour, Goth out!

daylight licked me into shape
must've been asleep for days
and moving lips to breathe her name
I opened up my eyes
I found myself alone, alone, alone
above the raging sea
stole the only girl I loved
drowned her deep inside of me
you
soft and lonely
you
lost and lonely
you
just like heaven

part of the completely miserable mood that showed up was definitely low blood sugar; eating means I feel better and physically warmer. Currently eating pattypan squash pickles, and listening to The Cure.

If you mix house and ranch dressings, since that’s a “ranch house dressing” does that make it “suburban split level”?

IIII CAN’T STAND IT
I KNOW Y’PLANNED IT
I’MA SET STRAIGHT THIS WATERGATE!
CAUSE I CAN’T STAND ROCKIN’ WHILE I’M IN HERE
CAUSE Y’CRYSTAL BALL AIN’T SO CRYSTAL CLEAR
SO WHILE Y’SIT AND WONDER WHY
I GOT THIS FUCKIN’ THORN IN MY SIDE

The escargot story (food).

But I’d just spent two months without garlic in anything! You could probably do the same thing with mushrooms, but butter and garlic on food was so GOOD I ate a dozen of ‘em easily.

The escargot story (food).

UM’s biology station up in Pellston has nicer classes due to location (middle of nowhere is great for fieldwork) and how professors who are museum staff in A^2 do their teaching requirements at the station. The cafeteria serves regular if bland meals.

These things came together. My professor and his wife served escargot as sort of a joke at the Malacology term end party - they had other food figuring these wouldn’t be popular.

I would like to drink a hot beverage, take the day off and pet a cat. Sadly day off and cat aren't likely but coffee I can probably do.

Just one today, dwarf outriders on ponies, with crossbow and spear.
