A big personal side of politics here is, my experience has been older people (not completely bought into an utterly vile system, the best example here is my Dad) seek solace in the idea that everything is shit. This is not how *I* want to become a senior citizen. There’s of course nuance (life holds lots of joy despite literally the worst people… if you survive the direct or indirect actions of right wingers and antisemites), but I would like to feel justified in hope politically, as well.

I remain pissed at nominal allies and by extension myself. I’m not quite past all of 2023’s bullshit after all. Technically given the grinding resentment, I’m still not quite over 2002’s bullshit.

Following up Sisters of Mercy with Clan of Xymox is pretty logical, but I can’t help feeling I need eyeshadow at this point.

Oh yeah starting the week with Sisters of Mercy’s “Floodland” album. What’s he on about? Who cares, it’s DARK. I use two dots of Animalism!

If I ever run VtM, I’ve decided no PC and probably no NPC Malkavians or Ravnos. Completely insensitive takes on psych issues and antiziganism do NOT mix well with the worst stereotypes of playing Chaotic Neutral D&D characters.

After a list of firearms which suggest that your PCs are going to get into extended sieges with SWAT teams and Garou, a short discussion of hacking and drugs, an extensive list of camping gear suggesting a PC hike through Nevada at night for some casual diablerie, and stats for ghouled animals, there’s finally a tiny section of magical items, including a Blood Point fueled dagger too long to be a Lupine’s tooth - and as a WtA player/GM I go “oh shit that’s a Bane/Fang dagger.”

And, RIGHT after the basic rules tell you Drive and Firearms don’t cover tanks and heavy artillery, guess what’s in the Player’s Guide? “Buahahaha, Lupines! Our loader has three dots in Celerity, let’s see you Rage for Gaia’s grief against 60 tons of MBT!”

Cambell’s Chunky Depleted Uranium (and Ham) sold better in the Jackbox “Junktopia” game better than Vlad Tepes’ Bar Mitzvah Photo, despite how it has fancy dress to honor Vlad’s aunt Esther Tepes, who made the BEST blintzes. Darn.
