oh and for the record Hunting Girl isn't my favorite Jethro Tull, my favorite's still Look Into the Sun

bet you thought it was Broadsword among other reasons 'cause that's the album that has Iain McCaig's cover art

oh man I dismissed Hunting Girl much as I liked the song because the lyrics are all oooooh Ian Anderson, big straight dude getting it on straightly but not into kink maaan

and fuck that message

but honestly the instrumentals are brilliant and the song's worth falling in love with for THAT reason

wish I had thought to have a half edible *earlier* so I could spare the time to listen to more music. I've listened to Battle of Evermore a million times, and Tinariwen will still be around for later.

I'll listen to my favorite Jethro Tull and then go to bed

maybe

coyote sing along hour

close the door, put out the light
you know they won't be home tonight
the snow falls hard don't you know
the winds of Thor blowing cold
they're wearing steel that's bright and true
they carry news that must get through

the dogs of doom are howling more
a wolf shall devour the sun, and this shall be considered a great misfortune
a second wolf shall devour the moon and this too shall do great mischief

mind the Ginnugagap

coyote sing along hour

so you run and you run to catch up to the sun but it's sinking
and racing around to come up behind you again
the sun is the same, in a relative way, but you're older
and shorter of breath and one day closer to death
ev'ry year is getting shorter
never seem to find the time
plans that either come to naught
or half a page of scribbled lines
hanging on in quiet desperation is the English way;
the time is gone, the song is over,
I thought I'd so much more to say.

Home, home again
I like to be here when I can
when I come home cold and tired
I like to rest my bones besides the fire
far away, across the fields
the tolling of the iron bells
calls the faithful to their knees
to hear the softly spoken magic spells.

fried up cherry tomatoes with garlic and chili, to have with cheese sandwiches I can eat. Hoping I don't get horrifying acid reflux from this.

I wasn't able to blanch all the yu choy sum like I'd hoped but I still made a big batch of seasoned greens for later in the week.

I do NOT want Shen Yun tickets, the whole Falun Gong behind-Epoch-Times thing is a turnoff but not even half so much as getting Shen Yun ads seemingly every time I go to watch a video, give it a rest dudes!

Having the sort of unfocused day drawing where it’s all figures in dramatic motion rather than anything finished. Anyone else get that?

Anyway here’s real cold photos from earlier today.

Well… I had been hoping to get the deep fried chitterlings here, cause this place does AWESOME deep fried stuff (and in this case piles on the chilis). Sadly no luck, it’s lunch special time so I had to settle for pan fried noodles better than anything I can make!

Uspol opinion

It’s not often someone manages to push buttons for me both as an environmentalist with socialist, inclusive politics AND as a hick DoD brat who still thinks “America” is some big worthwhile ideal. Until 2016 I didn’t even think that was possible. That THING and its stoolies push that though.

I only penciled one today but with the unexpected downtime really pushed on inks today, this is only some of them.

I eat 1, 2, 3, 4 burritos
pretty soon I can't fit in my Speedos
well I hope they feed us lots of chicken fajitas
and a pitcher margaritas

I have tomorrow off where nobody's going to particularly mind if I cry copiously, maybe I should rewatch The Dark Crystal

REPEATED RANT

be careful with needing violence to protect ourselves.

Because yes, we probably need it. But ethics and years of terrible fallout aside, the people who wind up on top in violent environments will stick around later. Let's be careful about handing the Mao Zedongs and Ariel Sharons of the world any control.

Power breeds parasites. Long live anarchy.

Five years ago was my first full day in Seattle (spent most of the 13th on the road obviously). I guess that makes sense as close to the halfway point between how it feels like it's been 3 years or 8.

oh man

so I found Damnation Alley and might watch it all the way through, but you have to understand a portrayal of nuclear war is real offputting to someone my age.

The charming watch sergeant who's an artist in his free time is Paul Winfield. That's a familiar name so I looked him up and wow, if you know the dude from STII and Terminator it doesn't touch the huge list of stuff he did.

Turns out he was also Gay, his husband went two years before he did and he went in 2004, alav ha shalom.

one or both my parents has a cold, so no seeing my folks and getting baked to help soak the psychological damage this evening

I am pondering spending the evening getting baked and listening to Tinariwen while wearing nothing but a fursuit head

hmmm

A Dracula movie in which all the titular character says is “bets!” “Blahd!” And “Transylvania!”

… oh and plays the Passacaglia and Fugue in C Minor cause Toccata and Fugue is overused
