Work stuff, asking for advice please

So my boss didn't fire me during our one on one meeting, but he told me that he was disappointed in my performance, that my quality did not meet his expectations. He has given me until Monday to decide whether I wish to quit or want to work on with the caveats

1) I am not getting converted to FTE this coming year
2) If my quality does not improve within 2-4 weeks he will fire me

Right now, I *want* to quit and look for other work, because I feel like this job won't give me a chance and I don't feel good at this job, but then there would be no chance of getting unemployment and I don't know if I can find anything else.

May I ask your opinion for what I should do? Please DM if you want to remain anonymous.

@Leucrotta Your boss is doing the 'New Management' thing. I had the same happen to me 5 times over.

You're never getting FTE there. It was never a possibility. This was going to happen eventually once they noticed they'd used you up.

You were a Human Resource. And now you're expended, for their purposes. You were never going to get to be One Of The Team, you're not a Fuckmothering Vampire.

Go to Labor Ready for now, work a back-buster of a job, or wait around, get fired, file for Unemployment, and if it's contested, claim you were fired for being Gay.

And take that time to work on yourself, your passions, and really ask yourself what you're Good At, not what pays the bills. Try some new jobs, quit if they're Awful, try again. Learn to cook all your own food because you can't afford take-out.

It'd be a better existence than perpetually Not Good Enough for a manager who's making you feel that way, because to Them, you're Disposable.
