I run a risk here, in saying that it's the same risk explored in the prog rock piece 2112, where all art and creative expression has been catalogued, categorized, analyzed, and generally subjected to right brain dissection, and free artistry is meaningless in the face of a collection of pre-recorded great works.
I'm paraphrasing a bit here, but I used to be one of the "Hurr-durr Communism Bad" people.
We're already in this hellscape however. Just the Capitalist hellscape described more in Lloyd Biggle Jr.s "Tunesmith" where music has been so slaved to corporate interests that Live Music is an unheard of concept, if it isn't the content of an Ad.
In our Society, Now, we can educate One Another, and avoid both these dystopias. All we need to do, is make sure we keep talking.

like i feel it's a real shame how all online media is optimised for frequency, when a lot of creative things can only really be done infrequently. i see so many people online who are extremely talented but are only able to make small and frequent things with moderate amounts of polish because the attention economy is tuned with a resonant peak at "1-14 days"

No matter how disgusted you are with this year's presidential options, please vote. Down-ballot matters vastly more when the federal government is being dysfunctional, and the current administration's lingering influence (staff cuts, malicious hires) will ensure it stays that way for a while yet. Years.
Also remember that in the U.S. of A., you have the protected right to vote for literally anyone you want. Write in "lizard people" if you feel like it!
