Do you scrub with a scrubby kitchen sponge and conditioner after shaving? That works well to free up any hairs that might ingrow, and it rounds the freshly shorn edges so you're not a cactus in a day and a half.
Lotsa scrubbing overall, and you'll wear off the hairs and taper them so they're not big ugly stubble, too.
There's a lotta different kinds of love.
The Love that says 'I want to have a long term, close, cohab relationship' is different from the love that says 'I wanna date you in fantastical ways and bang hard' is different from the love that says 'You're an amazing person and I just want you to have help and support in your life'.

The upside to that whole thing was that I was psychologically prepared for dealing with Demons, Ghosts, intrusive astral entities and the like.
The downside was that a serious mental health issue got a spiritual explaination I was satisfied with and then kicked me in the pants when I turned 30 or so.
And yeah, it's sometimes treated as pathological. Even when it's just a case of 'That person needs to be Out and have friends and good experiences Too, and not just live under the stairs"
