@wolfteeth There's Fate Core (which is what they play here), and apparently the quick-playing rules-light version is Fate Accelerated. $5 softcover book or the entirety online free somewhere.
@morganth@cybre.space I'd heard of it and seen a Tabletop ep of it I think, but horror's not my thing.
If I ever get around to watching the movie Inception, the Lucid RPG might be something to look at. http://www.feartheboot.com/ftb/index.php/archives/2058 It also uses a wooden-block-tower as mechanic resolution.

So most of my tabletopping has been with D&D and D&D-alikes, moderate crunch and the usual murder-hoboing. I really, *really* want to break out of that. And Fate looks awesome.
@literorrery that's open, but so far looking like it might be weekendish and leaning towards weekly or every other week
Neat looking DIY crystal ball prop with a goldfish bowl, black cloth, looping video smartphone, and candle holder.

I swear I will make this npc someday and run it in a Serious Game.

Well, I am home at a reasonable time, and motivated to do ... absolutely nothing. I guess maybe I can continue reading this D&D 5e adventure and make notes as to what I'd change.
savage orcs > xenophobic elves
weird dwarves > queer kobolds
must fit in two-headed wolves somewhere for sterephonic awoo and multiplayer pettings
Total Eclipse of the Stamp
US Postal Service are celebrating the August 21 eclipse by issuing a special stamp that shows the moon dark, but reveals it when you rub your finger on it, not unlike Transformers rubsigns from the 80s.

@typhlosion I don't see it as a soup, so unless you can make the case that it's a salad, it might as well be a sandwich.
8-bit Lonely Rolling Star is all I have left.

@vahnj yeah, I liked the "slender build" type feature in PF, as the 3.5 kobolds were pretty much negative LA compared to others.
@jk Maybe I'm influenced more by function? I actually liked the WinXP start menu when it came out, plus the taskbar shortcuts from win98/95ie4.
@jk oh gosh I hate skinned apps with an absolute passion, both for their ugliness and also funky way in which they implement it that leads to glitches and performance loss.
"Windows Media Player Classic" and later VLC were absolute musts to install on a clean build for me.
I think I like this version of the kobold as playable race more than Volo's. Partially because I can access this super quick and easy without having to worry about WotC and intellectual property. I think I'd rename Brilliantscale and Shadowscale, giving the latter proficiency in Stealth.

@jk I think for me Windows 2000 wss prettiest, or Win XP with Classic theme. Everything else has been downhill from there imho.
OH HEY BTW I didn't mean to imply I drew that, I was just pointing it out, with a link to serve as credit.
