life, survival, twitter crosspost
Life is more about survival than we are ever told, and mental health and stress matters considerably for survival, and i think we’re rarely ever told that either.
We are told we have to meet this bar that is high above our capability and then when we can’t do so repeatedly we are taught to believe that we are worthless and we are at fault.
But life really just is that hard.

This was advise given to someone, but is equally an open thing. It’s a big feeling i’ve gotten over time and the older generation did NOT prepare us for what we are facing, not that anyone could.
This weird societal tone of “Surviving is something we did Back Then, now we’re living.”
We haven’t nearly gotten there. It’s angering and frustrating but it’s no wonder we tend to blame ourselves SO much.
(life, survival, twitter crosspost) context, politics
It keeps is from blaming what needs to be blamed. The folks in power. It keeps us from finding progress, because ‘the rich and powerful are not to blame; we are’
It’s a fucked up thing i’m finally now analyzing from the outside and it’s terrifying how effective it is that we keep blaming ourselves and not the system around us that should be so much better
@Oneironott good luck, love.
@Oneironott ugh, best of luck! And thanks for sharing all that; it is reassuring to me if no-one else!

It’s a fucked up thing that we’ve all been taught and conditioned to point the blame at ourselves. Folks even look down on others for being “lazy”
We make it so much harder, when life is just -hard-, especially for us folk.
So my advise is to analyze, breath well, and always do what you need to do and try not to feel shame for doing so. You matter, and you need to survive.
We mustn’t break ourselves trying to reach the bar the privileged have set for us.
