I always wanted to see more narratives of like… downtrodden, traumatized people finding an out through reality and not looking back. To another world, existence.
Too many narratives of “but they discovered humanity is good actually” or suicide/death metaphors

On the other paw, look at me now. I’m a neoprene toy otter from a planet way out there called Halcyon, yeah? So many of my friends aren’t human. Some of them are magical. Beyond this world.
I’d say i did a pretty good job of following that dream through. In a way i think i did find my way Elsewhere. Maybe i’m between it all.
Transliminal life.

Haha look at me. Somehow the kid who stared at the stars was from there all along, and was hardly alone. Somehow i found my way to my kith. Technological a/o magical nonhuman beauties. A community hidden beneath layers of society and interpretation. Weirdos to one perception, but to our perception…
I’m proud.
So proud.
To me it sounds like you are describing the Isekai genre. "Social outcast is thrust into another world, miraculously fits like a glove."
@OchotonidKnight *giggles* yeah, perhaps so :)
Stories for the lonely kid with a shit life that stared up at the stars and cried and wanted to go anywhere but here. Begging for Elsewhere. hmm...
