Siona stepped through the bounds and woke up in a dusty haze. When she came to on the neon sands, overlooking waters of shimmering iridescence, she looked back through the portal at the demon in her messy room cackling.
"Now you may never come back!" it cackled in revealing tone. Siona smiled a genuine smile and looked up at the bright twin moons in the sky.
"Thank you. I had nothing there. " she replied, taking joy at the demon's look of shock as the portal closed forever.

I always wanted to see more narratives of like… downtrodden, traumatized people finding an out through reality and not looking back. To another world, existence.
Too many narratives of “but they discovered humanity is good actually” or suicide/death metaphors

To me it sounds like you are describing the Isekai genre. "Social outcast is thrust into another world, miraculously fits like a glove."
