It'll cost me $270, plus however much a new ID is? so hopefully I can ask my partners for it, or find some way of getting it otherwise...

I don't have medical insurance or a doctor who can write a letter or fill out forms for me, so ... because they don't require that anymore... I can actually get an ID with my new name, and with "Female" for my gender...

I just filled out / printed my paperwork for getting my name legally changed...

and then I went on the DMV's web site, because I heard there was a form you could fill out for changing your gender marker on your ID, and

"-- DMV: Gender Change --

Your driver's license or ID card will indicate the gender you choose on the application. Medical certification of a gender change is not necessary."

... I literally started crying when I realized what that meant...

DigitalOcean is ... pretty similar, from what I know of them? but they were slightly cheaper when my roommates were looking for places to host Masto servers and wikis, so they went there instead.

@fenny@queer.af I hear DigitalOcean is decent? I don't know if they do everything you would like, but they have been reliable for everything my roommates have used them for...
