work (-)

Based on the kvetching from my boss it sounds like our parent company was sold to the Americans while he was away at the business conference.

Awesome.

Not for the gay of heart.

@tahajin @ktdrg@mastodon.social @Rewhan @Ninty Hhhheck. o///o;;

@RhiaCat He's that guy who knows a little bit about a lot of different things because he's infinitely curious but also because he has attention-span issues he's never really been able to commit to one discipline. <3

My coworkers don't understand what I mean when I say it smells like it's gonna rain.

Please tell me you know what I mean so I don't feel like I have the world's lamest mutant superpower. ;3;

@tahajin I've been... spectating you, minty and ktdrg this morning. It's been... Compelling <///<

@tahajin Oh don't mind me just keep doing what you've been doing ᎧᏇᎧ

@MillennialDog@mastodon.social Tired: apologizing for party rocking

Wired: purchasing plenary indulgences to atone for party rocking.

So I managed to get Streetlight Manifesto played on the pirate radio stream I listen to each week.

Their response was "I don't even like ska" which??? Is good I guess??? It sounded like the unspoken part was "...and even I liked this." but then I have a hard time reading people on my best days.

cw: pol kinda?

Now my train of thought was basically "I should probably tell Him (the building super) but I dunno where he is right now and I'll be late for work."

And that made me think. How many times a day do people choose that tiny, seemingly insignificant act of self-preservation over doing a good deed? Probably a lot more often than most people would care to admit.

Am I saying if people didn't NEED to work, we'd be a better society overall?

...dunno, but I'd love to find out, honestly.

Had a thought on my way to work today about how, because everybody in North America, particularly the US, is basically forced to work to live, how little gestures of kindness and good samaritan-ness basically go ignored.

Follow me on this journey.

This .or ING,as I leave for work, I notice one of the building's lawn sprinklers is broken. Instead of spraying a fine mist all over the grass, it's gushing water in a fountain straight up, and onto the sidewalk.

@Nerts The last piece of spacefaring sci-fi I wrote had FTL vehicles but the munitions, due to some technical limitation, could only do sublight for some reason.

So a lot of combat in that universe was some Das Boot Hunt For Red October shit where they'd let munitions fly, and then there'd be like, an hour or more where they just sit and watch the missiles go (b/c they were slow enough to track in realtime) and do absolutely nothing about them until like, the literal last possible minute.

Well this was a weird thought to go to bed on, b/c it stuck with me through the whole night.

Anyway valued customers today we've got a special on Potions of Bull's Strength, made with 100% ethically-sourced bull 'essence'.

@Zero_Democracy i mean in theory anything can be used in TF alchemy - hair, nail clippings, skin, et cetera. I'm just saying that uh... certain fluids make more potent batches that are effective in smaller doses, thus more profitable.

Also you get more materials and wider diversity of potential if you solicit donations rather than take take samples >\\\>

Alchemy shop that specializes in TF. Accepts payment in the form of coin, bartered goods, or donating fluids... for making new TF potions of course.
