US pol. Immigration.
@Draekos I wish I could offer you something better than just my hope everything works out. :c
Having slogged through it myself, Immigration is one of those complete ass-aches I wouldn't wish on anyone, and my case was about as textbook as possible.
@Ulfra_Wolfe @kara_dreamer @GlitchThief Two tips for growing your hair long: only shampoo three times a week tops (you can wash and condition every day), and make sure to get your hair cut. When getting your hair cut, only get about a half inch to an inch removed.
It seems odd, but the ends of your hair get damaged, causing the strands to dry out and stop growing. By getting your hair cut regularly, you help promote growth.
Figures I find out about these AFTER I've spent all my money this week...

@vahnj ...? Then again most of the twitch memes I remember are exclusive to the 6 or 7 channels I'm following. I don't venture out beyond that because tbh the rest of Twitch scares me.

Maybe I should write a D&D campaign, since my writing seems to be a series of set-pieces instead of a contiguous narrative right now...

Had an idea about a brothel owned and operated by succubi. Not even for nefarious purposes, just... They provide a service that also happens to be their primary means of survival. Symbiosis.
Or maybe my hippie sex-positive thinking is bleeding into my creative work and I just want to de-stigmatise sex work in general.
¿por qué no los dos?
Also Tusky, you need to set up being able to do CW jumps on mobile.
Is there a mobile Mastodon client that can do CW jumps?
Been writing a lot more now that I have a good mobile device and a Google Docs account. I can jot stuff down when it occurs to me, rather than waiting until I'm at the computer, or carrying a cumbersome notebook and pen around. Plus it spares me having to transcribe later on.
If I don't write 'in the moment' ideas can slip away from me; one of the many inconveniences ADD has saddled me with. :c

Rise of Magic, Conflicts Within Society:
Charcoal burning is predominantly done by Pyromancers (Coalburners) at this point, as they can control the char of wood to such a fine degree that 'traditionally-made' woodchar and charcoal is determined to be inferior. Traditional charcoal burning, as an occupation, has died out.
Likewise, coalburners of exceptional skill are learning that mineral coal can be 'coked' in a very similar way, accelerating the steel industry.
Writing - The Lamplighter 3/?
Pyromancers are well-liked by the general populace, despite their potentially destructive powers:
"Blessed Is The Lamplighter, Who Shows Us The Way Home."
"Blessed Is The Hearthkeeper, Who Tends To Our Need."
"Blessed Is The Forgemaster, Whose Craft Defends Us."
Titles given or adopted based on what the Pyromancer predominantly occupies themselves with: lamplighter, coalburner, etc.

The flask contains a spark, which is actually a tiny sliver of its owner's soul, in the form of an intense memory, designed to provoke powerful emotions.
I'm fixated on this metaphor of bottling and unbottling one's emotions, and each being unhealthy and destructive unless managed properly. One builds up pressure until it becomes a bomb, and the other consumes like unchecked wildfire...

Working on the Lamplighter's Inn. She still doesn't have a name yet, and that bothers me slightly. She represents the idea of destructive behaviors used for good.
Originally planned for her to be simply a sorceress, but refined it down to Pyromancer, since that's largely what I find myself writing her with.
What started this was the idea of her power being tied to this little bottle or flask, kind of like a Dark-souls Estus Flask type of thing but only when its open...
I'm Rewhan. I'm in BC, I work in a quick-lube shop, and in my spare time I write fantasy / post-apoc fiction and fret ceaselessly.
Writing - Arbalest Team 1/?
This was a strange idea that just came to me one day, while playing Massive Chalice (I think)
A three man scout detachment, operating a siege-engine-sized crossbow like a surface-to-air rocket launcher. Two men serve to carry, steady and help aim the device while the third gauges crosswind, distance, and inevitably pulls the trigger.
The leader of this detachment would be a no-nonsense career military brat named 'Able' - nobody calls her Abella LaFayette to her face.
Writing - Rewhan 5/?
The Calling of an Alchemist I based, in no small part, on Rudyard Kipling's The Calling of An Engineer - I wanted a secular ceremony that still imparts upon its participants the enormous responsibility of their craft, and the potential danger (and benefit) they present to the world at-large.
A magician can't give a nonmagician the power to hurl fireballs, after all, but an Alchemist can. He can potentially outfit an army with destructive potential... hence Rewhan's pacifism
