After I found a place to park and I crawled into bed last night, Koko jumped right back in with me and curled up at my feet...

I'm so glad I brought this dog into my life... I'm taking her to the vet today to get her rabies booster and see if we can further pinpoint the cause of her allergies.

All in all. It's a reptilian brain thing. Little bugger likes to sink its teeth in and drag me down with it.

Jesus Christ... There are some days where my mind latches onto every circumstance and blows shit out of proportion... Even my dog forgives me when a part of me can't forgive myself.

In that case, maybe that's why she's in my life. To teach me how to not be so hard on myself.

I can't say it enough times. @mawr 's corgi puppy is an absolute beanie baby. I can't wait for him to meet Koko!

I think for now, I'm just gonna a focus on going by they/them pronouns instead of doing away with pronouns entirely.

It was fun to try, but I think that might be asking a little too much of myself and other people.

Koko's incredibly social when it comes to interacting with dogs. But only if they approach a certain way. When dogs approach slowly and offer time to snif each other out, she's perfectly alright.

Dogs that charge right up into her face get the dog bark equivalent of "FUCK OFF!" As she stays close to my feet. She even watches my back.

She doesn't bite, but she's incredibly aware of her personal space. Less than a day she's already loyal and protective of me.

Seriously. While most shibas are fierce like samurai, Koko is a Zen Buddhist monk.

We're at Ballard Locks and Koko enjoys people watching as much as I do! Got her a little green shirt to cover up her belly and a salve to rub on it.

Oh my god... I reached down to pet Koko and now she's climbed up onto my bed and burrowed under the covers with me. I can't believe how fast we're bonding!

Part of it had to do with the local Daiso stocking curry cup noodles and baby star ramen chips. Two things I haven't had since I studied abroad six years ago.

Holy Fuck. I'm feeling so much nostalgia for Japan that it's driving me nuts. Kumamoto and the surrounding area was so beautiful that I wanna hop on the next plane across the pacific and relive the excitement of exploring Kyushu for days on end.

Given my current work situation is outdoors, I can easily set her up under a tree with food and water and take her for walks during lunch.

Cleaned out my place in preparation for meeting this darling! Koko is a 3 year old shiba inu from a family with three children.In no other circumstance would I consider adopting a Shiba. The aggressive traits were trained out of her so she's playful, well behaved, and gets along with animals incredibly well!

She has allergic breakouts on her belly arrtibuted to fur loss, which may mean it's a chemical like laundry detergent or fertilizer. It's growing back, slowly but surely.

Also known as "Bear Root." Also known as "Love root." Because when bears dug it up and ate it, the amount of oxytocin in the plant caused them to start nuzzling each other...

That's fucking adorable!

I really suck at staying active on IM chats. The longing for meatspace interaction is all too real.
