not only is the smash ultimate theme weaker than it would be if it didn't have lyrics, the versions of it *without* lyrics suffer from it because i hear the lyrics in my head
@monorail Most music is weaker with lyrics in our opinion--at least music that's well-written musically. Good lyrics can absolutely prop up a bad tune, but that's another matter.
@monorail Rosemary's been playing Fire Emblem Fates recently and there's a plot-significant song (with lyrics) that is just... the lyrics seem really poorly translated, the melody doesn't emphasize the right parts of words to go with english stress patterns
