@cozykaffe@snouts.online The Endless series kind of does that. It has a steep learning curve. I think Endless Space 2 kind of assumes you've played the first one to know the terminology?

@cozykaffe@snouts.online As it turns out, the ps vita is an excellent portable emulation machine if you hack it. But it doesn't have many games on it.

I really feel like it was Sony's insistence on a proprietary memory card that killed it.

@cozykaffe@snouts.online @hyenatown@snouts.online Oh, that's really neat.

@fribbledom I suppose I don't know enough about versioning systems to know what this means. I thought that was default behavior for a commit.

@cozykaffe@snouts.online Sixteenth-century european thinking was quite a thing. And not a good thing.

@cozykaffe@snouts.online And as such, the europeans would have been more open to treating the Aztecs as equals, whereas the europeans encountering the north american natives would be more likely to treat them as lesser beings, because "treat them as lesser beings" is basically what europeans _do_ with anyone they don't understand.

@cozykaffe@snouts.online Yeah, that probably makes more sense. I was thinking more along the lines of how the Aztecs and other cultures in that area had actual cities that functioned similarly to European cities, whereas, as we understand it, most of the north american natives had a drastically different sort of civilization that europeans of the time would have called uncivilized.

@cozykaffe@snouts.online I wonder if that has anything to do with the fact that the natives in those regions had a civilization that would have been more recognisable as civilization to the Spaniards?

re: food, here's a riddle for you

@monorail One of them is rad and the other is only rad-ish?

@cozykaffe@snouts.online It's always felt to us like Mexico and Latin America in general have preserved the native culture a lot more than the US and Canada.

@Duende@snouts.online I assume someone at some point said "we need to accommodate gender-diverse people" and someone else misunderstood.

@monorail Ah, I had tried to piece together its meaning and I thought it was something less kind than "show off to".

@monorail What exactly does "flex on" mean in this sort of context?

@monorail This reminds me of a joke we enjoyed seeing once: a red sign that said "If this sign is blue, you're going too fast" on it.

re: vent //

@pearshapes@snouts.online I don't know what happened before or what you did in the past, but I know that here and now you're a good person.
