So I scored a cheap copy of Xanathar’s the other week. So far; circle of shepherds with making your summoned animals way more butch feels like how I want to play druids. Arcane archer with the ability to just get past resistance sounds awesome. But the real winner so far is drunken master- I’m not usually interested in monks but free disengage and 10’ extra movement feels a lot like how I want to do combat in D&D.
@SkunkyLass I guess here my experience in martial arts *does* come into play, despite how I've played a monk exactly once ever. Everything I know is that fights are really really mobile, and one of the things I like least in D&D is how combat can quickly become opponents just standing in the same place, gently tapping hit points off each other.
