roomba, capitalism
the secret is the Personality Core does nothing, it only exists to alleviate the end-user's moral hesitation about buying a new roomba
i've read articles about people getting attached to their roombas and not wanting to throw them out. irobot (the company that makes roombas) seemed baffled and a bit put off by this, but my thought was, why not play into it?
give every roomba a little block called the Personality Core. when you buy a new one, you slot your old core in, so you're not throwing out your robo friend, you're just shifting them over to a cool new body

'...The American Psychological Association (APA) officially labeled “traditional masculinity” as “harmful” in a new report.
The label is in the report titled “Guidelines for the Psychological Practice with Boys and Men,” a first of its kind for the association, which was featured in the January issue of “Monitor on Psychology” magazine.
“Traditional masculinity ideology has been shown to limit males’ psychological development, constrain their behavior, result in gender role strain and gender role conflict and negatively influence mental health and physical health,” according to an excerpt in the 36-page report...'

Reportedly, in Tokyo, local gangs have started using drones to transport drugs across the city.
In response, the police are using net-carrying drones to try to capture these packets mid-air.
The gangs are counter-attacking with their own net-drones to try and drop police drones.
In a statement with the Tokyo police, they say they "Haven't had this much fun in years"

mirrors, transfeels (~-)
Sometimes I see her out of the corner of my eye in the mirror. She's me, but not only the me I want to be, but the me I want to have been all along too. And for those moments, I feel this impossible yearning.
Most of the rest of the time, I just see me. Sometimes that's good, sometimes that's bad. Sometimes I even feel like I'm not faking something. Like I'm actually supposed doing the things that I'm doing. Like I'm not some clumsy gangly too-tall, too-broad-shouldered mess in a skirt.
I should probably apologize for the joke here but maybe only two people are going to get it anyway. <..<
Here’s a survey about titles that should only take 3 minutes or so, for literally anyone who speaks English:
https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScc9qrhq9Y_I3E-4GYritWVpQ2xXj8uBmAMGNmpVF-9XDgWAw/viewform
It’ll end at noon UK time on Sunday 13th January 2019 at the soonest.
Every survey response, RT and boost is really helpful! Thank you. :)

Then I woke up.
It was a hell of a realistic dream though, including a lot of detail that I don't normally see. I was also self-aware enough to find it weird that I didn't remember how I'd driven across the border sans passport and birth certificate.
Also everybody who had facial hair looked really impressive up close. And Cam was a sweetie.

It was down to me and one or two other people (or maybe they were the only others who showed up?) and then I got asked about my weaknesses. And I said, "Well, my shitty ex left me with panic attacks, though I've largely figured out how to manage those. I'm visibly trans though, so that may cause some problems whenever I appear on stream if the viewers aren't cool with that."
And everybody collectively had a sigh at the sorry state of things and there were hugs.
