linux, annoyed

@Vann@glitch.social

Heh, I'm having the opposite problem in fedora. I play games on my right hand monitor and use the left to run everything else, but applications automatically launch on the right.

@confusedcharlot "armed nutcase down by the movie theater" according to someone on the nextdoor app. Idk how accurate that is though.

Helicopter sounds are still audible but seem to be doing down a little, maybe the situation is resolving.

Apparently there's an armed guy in a bullet proof vest running around nearby

@Efi

Hahaha, "Hoe-nas" comes across a little less sexy than "Yo-nas" xP

@sina@cutie.space @Efi

Katja is great! I like how in Russian, Katja is short for Ekaterina

@Efi @sina@cutie.space

(Jonas, pronounced "Yo-nas" is also really pretty! I might actually keep that in my back pocket if I ever consider fully transitioning)

@sina@cutie.space @Efi

Seenah is a pretty pronunciation. :3

Yeah! I know a Jana and an Anja too. Such great names.

@sina@cutie.space

Yeah, same. And I don't usually get upset (especially when I go by Sparrow in a lot of spaces), just kinda bemused.

@sina@cutie.space @Efi

Sinja (with the j sounding like "ya") is really pretty! I had a friend growing up who was a Sonja, kinda similar.

Is it pronounced seenah or sin-na?

@sina@cutie.space

Yikes. Yeah, after years of being misspelled and mispronounced (I get "dawn-ika" and "duh-nee-ka" a lot), I usually just ask people to spell their names if I'm confused. :P

@sina@cutie.space

Lol I had someone spell my name "Danica" in a reply email to my original "hi it's Danika" today

I've been on this website for more than a year and I know a bunch of people but I'm still learning about new people who've apparently been on here forever too! Weird~
