grump about this holiday, pol-ish
Once again somewhat annoyed at capitalism and Americanocentrism making it that NZ mysteriously makes a big deal about Halloween.
It's spring.
I'm pretty sure Halloween was hardly a thing in the 90s. ... or I just didn't notice.
We really should be celebrating whatever the more appropriate pagan... celebration... would be.

TF-y, shitpost
Hierarchy of desired body parts:
This is a current mood.
... well, swap paws and wings, honestly, in terms of hierarchy of body parts to gain, but still.

@IceWolf I actually tested as I was posting this - I added characters up to the limit, and the submit button was disabled. Once I added a CW string, active or not, the submit button seemed to remain enabled.
So, hmmm.
Hmm, Awoo has a 500 character limit, unless you use a content-warning, in which case it says it's infinite. (It probably isn't, of course.)
However if I open the CW box, put something in (activating infinite mode) and then close it without erasing the CW, the character limit remains infinite.
I wonder if it's bugged, such the limit will remain allowed to be passed...
@Oneironott That sounds like an interesting sensation...
thoughts on VR culture/industry things, birdsite link
I feel like you can specifically point to half life alyx coming out and NOT causing an industry sea change as the point where this became basically undeniable
It really is unfortunate how inaccessible VR is due to costs, physical limitations, hardware availability, and existing games. Hell that last one is what people get consoles for: publishers rabbit on about how fancy the next PS/etc is, but people get consoles for their games.
It's unfortunate because I am a big advocate of VR... but the things I want it for are the immersive social experiences with friends. Such things are generally more light-weight "make your own fun" sorts of deals. Minecraft was the same in its early says. There wasn't much game-y elements to it, and I enjoyed the social and exploration parts to playing multiplayer with friends.
I don't think such things justify facing the hardware availability (speaking as someone that can't get Index hardware overseas) and costs. If you're already seeking out such experiences and willing to put time/money into it, the end-result experiences are worth everything emotionally.
But at the start? Well of course it's going to be a big hurdle for mass-appeal, and mass-appeal is what it takes to shake industries.
@Oneironott Prance prance prance those four paws~.
@Oneironott *stretches out before at poses~*
@Oneironott Oh what a wonderful spacey-looking texture...

snuggle nuzzle and rub...
re: 🐲posting
@Oneironott I do this too~. It's good to share things that would appeal to friends' interests and identities.
@Soreth I think Code Vein was supposed to be kinda like that? An anime Dark Souls? At least in terms of having a super customisable anime wardrobe.
re: vr, VRChat, mh, -
@kistaro I definitely thought "hey it'll be okay if I just appear where you are right" when I hung out last but I'm glad I at least got to see you all... ...
I'm an artist and something of a game dev living in New Zealand.
I talk about personal things that can get tangentially NSFW. While I wouldn't call this an after-dark account, it's kind of a mishmash personal account and prefer to mingle with people I know or trust.
