So, way earlier today my dad bumped his shin into a door handle at work and apparently cut himself hard enough in the process that it started bleeding pretty heavily and he needed like seven stitches when he later went to the doctor for it.

He... somehow didn't notice any of this other than the act of bumping into the thing itself until he looked down at one point and found himself standing in a puddle of his own blood.

Fast forward to earlier tonight and (predictably, because my dad is nothing if not an utter fool) one of the stiches must've broken back open or something, because all hell broke lose and mom was scrambling to get it all cleaned up - when I came down a little while later I could smell the bloody tissues from the other side of the kitchen for fuck's sakes.

Like... how did this man make it to 56??? Like I realize I have a mad sensitive nose and all, but how do you *not* pick up on the feeling of what must've been a pretty bad cut in your leg, liquid going down it and pooling in and around your shoe over time, let alone the scent of it all after a while? I'm... in absolute awe.

@IceWolf Wolves definitely eat plenty of non-meat out in the wild, but they're most definitely still obligate carnivores in that they need at least a decent amount of it to survive without developing health problems.
