@phenokage@snouts.online I had a... vaguely similar experience? My parents (boomer/GenX cusp, for lack of better words) pretty much don't listen to anything that came out after '85, and I was born in '92. Still got a bunch of the stuff from the '90s and the earlier '00s through cultural osmosis/the radio, but for the longest time everything from the late '80s and the early '90s was an enigma to me until I latched on to it *hard* in my teens starting in like... 2006ish.

@kd@yiff.life People - ostensible adults, no less - saying how they grew up with Minecraft, a game that wasn't released until after I'd graduated high school and was coasting on my 20s always make me instantly age a thousand years.

me after compensating for that by tacking on another 4 hours of broken up, REM rebound-addled sleep on the couch: ow, my head hurts

@AzureHusky Yeeeaaah.
They reopened things somewhat here back at the beginning of the month and about the only thing that's kept me from wearing a mask at all times outside is the fact I couldn't get my hands on any until recently, the fact I stay far away from other people as it is and the fact I'm about 99% sure I'd already caught COVID-19 back in March, in retrospect.
