It's impossible to talk to my parents about the things that worry me, because my dad attacks me for not trying harder, and my mom brings up *more* things I should be worried about & that she thinks I can't handle.

It's odd. My dad thinks I'm strong, and therefore I should try harder, why am I so worried?
My mom thinks I'm weak, and it's understandable for me to be worried. She gives me more to worry about.
Neither of them are helping.
This is why I always turn to my friends for venting and advice.
I turn to my parents when I need financial help because something has happened beyond my means or ability.
My parents see me as their kid and they want to fix things. Mostly I just want them to listen.
My friends see me as their friend/family/sister and want to stand up for me. They do listen.

They've been really supportive these past few months for other things, emotional stuff and moving logistics. But they aren't great to discuss anything stressful with. I have to be really explicit if all I want from them is support.
My Internet friends have been so supportive and I'm really grateful. I cherish the time with my IRL friends, but everyone's so busy.
It was great to meet you, too. I'm glad we made that happen.
