Ah, cool! It's really not that bad. I've done the drive plenty of times in 3 hours. Used to have friends at Rice and near the old Astrodome.

Also, Houston is east of Austin, not south, which is why I initially thought Rio Grande Valley. I hope you didn't suffer much from the hurricane.
