Woo identity, spiritual, otherkin vs. human spirit
@chara I'd recommend checking out works that aren't so popularized. There's many children's books that have plenty of imagination but aren't on the mass market.
Woo identity, spiritual, otherkin vs. human spirit
@chara I really should just write more books to advertise the beauty of other worlds to humans on this world :)
cw: disassociation
@captainRust@occult.camp @irisjaycomics THis is me with The Mars Volta. It just carries me into this strange surreal being... like it's wonderful and freeing but emotional, chaos, and full of emotional pain. I guess that tells you a lot about me.
cw: disassociation
@irisjaycomics I totally dig it.
cw: disassociation
@irisjaycomics No, but now I'm curious.

Not to say that wolves can't also be super selective based on sense of pack/family (the same word really). Humans are by no means the only ones that have in-groups and out-groups.
But there's so many greater ways to be.
Hmmm.
Thinking about it, I have not explored my Sola side enough. The one that sees the bigger picture.
I feel weird and awkward voicing all of this out loud. ^^;
Woo identity, spiritual, otherkin vs. human spirit
I love the wolf and sheep aspects of my brain, how they've formed within me, and I absolutely adore wolves and sheep on a spiritual level. But at the same time, they don't override that human side. It's more like I have a human in me that rides on a wolf and hugs on her sheep.
But she wonders if she wants to stay human anymore.
She's so upset at the ape brain that's so divisive by nature....
Woo identity, spiritual, otherkin vs. human spirit
So this is a big question I have for myself.
How much do I want to cling to this sense of a human side of me? Everything is mutable, particularly in the mental sphere, so I COULD embrace being otherkin.
But as much as I hate a lot of human institutions and ways of doing things, I still hold onto a human identity -- just one that wants to go away with the strange creatures to explore other fae kingdoms, leaving home far behind.
reminder that making bread is exceedingly occult, you're ritually creating a tiny microcosm and then destroying it in fire to create the very first meaningful food ever made, the thing that made us settle down and start doing civilization
Research on Cops
"Volumes of research in sociology, psychology and criminology have advanced a “rotten apple” theory of police misconduct (Bonnano 2015) explaining variation in police behavior with individual-level officer traits. For example, scholars have posited that police officers have distinct personalities characterized by, “machismo, bravery, authoritarianism, cynicism and aggression,” as well as bigotry (Balch 1972; Skolnick 1977; Twersky-Glasner 2005, 58) and
some argue that ..."

~, rambling tbh
@maple It's a terrifying prospect, and admittedly people that I otherwise trusted being some of those bad people has really damaged my trust.
@grime_witch You had me at "werewolf pack"
@thefishcrow Caw
I think that's the worst I've ever blown a Navigation roll that hasn't wound up with me in another U.S. state. Sorry again, @neonNeptunian!
In totally related news, can someone recommend a really good, cheap mobile data plan? I think it's time to enter the 21st century and get a proper cell phone so I don't waste anyone's time like this again.
Hokay, folks, I need to feel really intelligent again somehow, so I think I'm gonna stare at Parallax until my forehead bleeds. Cheers! <3
