I love that my dog understands the concept behind the phrase "afternoon snack"

It is not crazy to say "you can nullify that contract" if the contract was made under false pretenses, by a fugitive of the law, with stolen.money. good gravy.

Its always a bit annoying when a book concludes in a way that you as a reader are saying "you have an easier solution you idiots"

Okau, so the only thing the official Mastodon app is missing from the get go is a way to view the local and federated timelines. Unless I can't see it.

I have now almost read the entire works of Mary Higgins Clark... odd that it feels sad to see it all end

Masto admins, do you manage trends? Boosts welcome

As per usual making a baked good this week. Do my standard chocolate chip recipe or do I switch to a new one?

Me moving to Mastadon is some serious Summer of Morbius Energy

The mysteries arent even that clever? With one exception (twelve clues of christmas) i figured out the path of the story pretty quick

Yet I read these books and enjoy them? Maybe ai just like the adventure book quality?!

Also the hatred for Wallace Simpson gets trite by like page 5

Girl in Book 3 you found out there was a massive conspiracy (that succeeded) to dethrone the rightful king and you just accepted it

Show thread

The royalist politics do annoy me because Georgie constantly sees what utter buffoons qnd hypocrisy laden twerps the aristocracy is but she keeps leaning back to the sentimentality of "theyll do the right thing"

Show thread

At the same time... Darcy O'mara the love interest is very flat to me. Georgie is also super judgey and that gets kind of grating to have her be the moral center. Again with Queenie... girl she saved your life three times and helped you kill a vampire. Stop calling her hopeless and a bad maid?!

Show thread

Also yeah its fun that the series has vampires, ghosts, the lochness monster, and witches as real things that impact the plot but arent central. Georgie grew up with ghosts and is comfortable with them

Show thread

Also Queenie the Maid has good comedic energy when used right in the book.

Though honestly Georgie should recognize Queenie's loyalty is worth a great deal no matter how often she accudentally lights things on fire or destroys things by accident

Show thread

I do like that overall the series is about Georgir asserting herself. We start with her not knowing how to care for herself or work and several books later she is actually self sufficent (mostly)
