This isnt a new concept and every decade I hear some iteration of it. It isnt that the rhetoric isnt dangerous. There are people who will act on such ideas in very violent ways.
All I think of when I hear it is how Charles Manson convinced his followers they would start a "racial civil war" etc.

I honestly dont think the USA is anywhere close to a Civil War (this includes the newly coined term "cold civil war"). I am sure there are people who want that because they find the status quo distateful. I think there are people who profit from the attention of claiming it. I just also think there are a lot of people and factions who know that would not be in their interests.
