I am very much in favour of services like Patreon or similar crowdfunding since they free creators up from work-for-hire and allow them to work as their muse dictates rather than altering their work to their audience/market. That can have amazing results, and I'd love to see that sort of thing become even more prevalent.
This presentation is probably the best possible one out of all the computable presentations: https://youtu.be/uNjxe8ShM-8
Story idea:
The natural process by which man-made objects become yokai (via long-term ownership imbuing these objects with souls) has its balance interrupted by planned obsolescence & disposability culture; as a result, the flow of souls is re-routed, and all antiques become exceptionally powerfully haunted.
Hot take on art discourse
Fearless Girl is an advertisement masquerading as guerrilla art but was in reality commissioned by a hedge fund.
Charging Bull is guerrilla art that lionizes the status quo "good immigrant" narrative. It's guerrilla art that is so vapid that most people ASSUME it was commissioned by a hedge fund.
Each is cringe inducing in its own uniquely horrible way.

Warning Forever (2003)
A vertical-scrolling shoot-em-up by Hikoza T Ohkubo that consists entirely of boss battles against opponents that are procedurally generated to counter the weaknesses of your fighting style. As you beat each stage, the next boss gets generated with new abilities based on how you destroyed the last one.

My favorite part of this gif is when the camera shakes at the end and you know the person filming is thinking "Well I need to pull the fox out of the trash again"
