@typhlosion Thanks for that FAQ. Since the local timeline seems to be an important concept in mastondonland, it seems like the theme/notes column on the list of instances (github.com/tootsuite/mastodon/) should be more specific about community aims.

Mellow/less hectic are great goals, but that's not clear right now when someone stumbles onto the server looking for respect and moderation.

@inurashii FWIW, if there are content guidelines from the moderators on the signup page (no tech/politics/recipe discussions), that would be handy.

Everything right now is about respect and moderation, which is awesome, but very different from what you described.

@niki Federation seems to be wonky right now, although I'm not sure if this instance is set up to federate w/ anything other than mastodon.social.

@2william @ok I'm probably not that dedicated. Although I'm friends with the original @bmw on Twitter. To be fair, those are his his actual initials.

@2william @ok Nice. That means @ok wins the username lottery. Time to start sitting on brand names. :)

@ok Good question. Does tagging work across servers? A "welcome to federation" FAQ would be handy.

I started this to try a different instance out and see if I could snag a 2 letter handle, can people have the same handle on different instances though? If I tag @okfox does that link to my other account that's on mastodon.xyz?? Testing, hello world, etc.

I'd like to give a big  to whoever designed this default UI to be so TweetDecky.

Also a  to the ': thumbsup :' emoji syntax, although Slack-style previews would be a nice feature add.

@jackm The preview thumbnail seems to work just as expected.

Awoo Space

Awoo.space is a Mastodon instance where members can rely on a team of moderators to help resolve conflict, and limits federation with other instances using a specific access list to minimize abuse.
