@LionsPhil This sucks bollocks. Thank you for taking care of yourself, though.
Have a good day tomorrow my French peeps, here's a heartwarming song for you!
"Can you explain this gap in your resume?"
Yes. Life is about more than constant and meaningless toil for 40-50 years and a desolate twilight of failed ambitions. The social contract is broken and the system is a lie. You and I are both trapped in the same Sisyphean hell, where no amount of working harder or longer will ever truly grant the rewards we were promised. The real question is, why are there no gaps in YOUR resume?
“…”
Errr, freelancing. I was freelancing.
re: Minor injury
@solicat No physio. It's Ireland so "ahh you'll be grand". I'll do my own physio though, I think.
re: Minor injury
Soooo it's in fact a fracture and I'm keeping the splint for 4 more weeks. Ah well.
Have there been Mastodon/Fediverse-related panels or meet ups at cons before? Would people be interested in that for #Eurofurence this year?
Just a spontaneous idea I had! Thinking about this from two angles: As an opportunity to meet each other, but also as a practical way to introduce more people to Mastodon and help them connect with friends here.
"If you are a subscriber to either Tweetbot or Twitterrific, I beseech you to decline these prorated refunds. It’s a couple of bucks for you, but in the aggregate, this amounts to an existential sum of *already booked revenue* for these two companies, both exemplars of the indie iOS and Mac community.
"Reinstall the app if you’ve already deleted it. Tap that ‘I Don’t Need a Refund’ button and feel good about it. We have a month. Spread the word.”

The Luddites were a labor movement.
"The Luddites themselves 'were totally fine with machines,' says Kevin Binfield, editor of the 2004 collection Writings of the Luddites. They confined their attacks to manufacturers who used machines in what they called 'a fraudulent and deceitful manner' to get around standard labor practices.
'They just wanted machines that made high-quality goods,' says Binfield, 'and they wanted these machines to be run by workers who had gone through an apprenticeship and got paid decent wages. Those were their only concerns.'"
Also the men wore dresses and called themselves brides of Ludd.
