Boy I went on a journey of Not Getting The Point here, despite The Point slapping me in my pocket every few seconds: THE NEWBIES ARE SIGNING UP WITH THEIR REAL ACTUAL FULL HUMAN NAMES.
*That's* why I'm seeing so many people do things that to me seem bizarre. It's because I'm used to interacting with raccoons, crows, witches, impossible geometric shapes, inflatable coatis and the anthropomorphic personification of paint smell
Hey, hey you. You wanna see the most badass nebula you’ve ever seen?
Given the… greater incentive to use Mastodon as of late, I’ve ended up in a somewhat happy medium using Mastonaut on Mac and Toot! on iPhone/iPad.
It’d be nice if you could pile multiple account’s home timelines on one screen (ala TweetDeck, Tweetbot)!
I signed up for Cohost, not as yet-another-Twitter-replacement, but because I wanna write posts with custom CSS actually.
How to migrate from one Mastodon server to another without losing followers:
1. Sign up on new server
2. On NEW server: Go to Account -> Moving FROM another account
3. Enter old account's handle
4. On OLD server: Go to Account -> Moving TO another account
5. Enter new account's handle and submit
An #introduction / #reintroduction given the previous one was out of date.
Hello world, I'm beeps. I'm a trans agender (it/its), asexual, furry, and robotkin, normally (but not always) represented online as a robotic bat. I'm the core of a system that also includes Olive.
Olive is non-binary (they/she), also asexual, and represented online as a plushie squirrel suit. Olive, whilst not entirely nonvocal, doesn't speak often, so you probably won't hear from them much.
Together, we work as a front-end developer for the British government and smooch @taylor twice as much as is necessary.
I wrote a big long blog post about my potentially plural experiences and what I've been doing about them. https://beeps-bot.tumblr.com/post/699291391296143360
^ This toot pretty much still stands, btw. Mastodon good, but underdeveloped ecosystem makes it a bit too friction-y for me to do more than check in once or twice a day.
