@modernmodron My family found ourselves watching the supporting characters. I won't say more b/c I treat even casual info as "spoilers," but a couple of the supporting chars really captured me and sent me back into comic origins.
@maloki Okay, I'll start breathing normally again.
@Tawa2Tawa Isn't it nice? I'm reading it now! Awoo!
@maloki Oh God oh God. This is a very delicate time! If it feels uneven, remember that some stuff takes a while to get its legs. I feel like The Pack is where I can say, okay, now it's Buffy.
@inmysocks Nice! I'm also new to Krita (and to digital drawing; and, mostly, to drawing). I've been using a mouse. I'm glad I'm not the only one trying digital art without a drawing tablet!
masto discourse
@creatrixtiara I know @vahnj has invited input, whether openly or privately (as via Direct toots). They might also have info for you on that episode involving some poc leaving, respecting user privacy of course. (I'm not trying to be obscure: most of the incident took place almost wholly off the public time line in fragmented collections of @-replies, iirc, and it was hard to know anything that was happening even if you were actively trying to keep up.)
@creatrixtiara Briefly & in deference to those who saw/knew more, several poc left en masse b/c when they pointed out microaggressions or ways Masto had built-in problems for them, they weren't heard.
Can't say of course what your experience would have been, but I saw a lot of folk talking/teaching about visa experience/concerns, not tagged as politics & w no complaints. Mostly folks just didn't want "OMFG WHAT TRUMP SAID WE GONNA DIE" filling feed as on November-February Twitter.
@creatrixtiara The "politics" in "tag your politics" was really shorthand for "upsetting recent news especially daily-Trump/U.S.-shit." Things we know as "political" in the sense of class, sexuality/gender, and (afaik) ethnicity & race were never asked to be tagged/hidden.
But yes, until and during The Incident, I saw poc urgently claiming that they were suffering stuff that most of us white users didn't see, didn't want to see, or explained away.
Mastodon discourse stuff
@Mycroft @vahnj I don't know of a write-up. There was of course a precipitating incident, but I gathered that already many poc felt that their pointing-out of microaggessions went ignored, or examples were explained away; this while the software still lacked a Report feature. But keep asking around, others saw/knew more than I did.
Body part (legs)
@Luern@witches.town Is this #gamsoutforgaming @candle@witches.town ?
@jeroensmeets Also, kids, many Randy Newman songs represent an opportunity to learn about the phenomenon of the "unreliable narrator". Astonish your friends at the next Newman rave with your literary acument!
@plsburydoughboy I don't know if this will make you feel better or worse but this afternoon there's a square old in the U.S. Midwest filling up a Red Velvet playlist and it's your doing.
